PEOPLE

We hire cool people who get it done.

“Freak” is a term of endearment used at The Delta Companies. The word describes an eccentric or nonconformist person, wildly enthusiastic about pursing their passion. These are all terms the company looks for in growing our exceptionally talented team. For every one individual hired, we screen at least 30 applicants. Although rigorous, this process helps us to find the one member that will click with our team, and engage in our energized and productive culture.

School is in Session

From “Freak” to "Principal," the Infusion Institute is in place to support all stages of member evolution at The Delta Companies. The program provides resources to help members succeed, as well as develop new skills that will put us ahead of competitors. The smarter, more driven members we have, the better service we can provide to our customers. Therefore, we put no limitations on our member’s development, or on their success.

CORE BEHAVIORS

At The Delta Companies, things are done a little differently. A communal spirt of fellowship helps drive continued top performance. This ensures that we work with the best in the business. Each of the core behaviors have been embraced by all members at The Delta Companies, and the commitment to these behaviors allows the company to thrive in both performance and humanity.

Self-discipline differentiates great from good. Self-discipline is our ultimate degree of separation from the competition. Our clear plans provide a compass to finishing. Yet no plan survives its encounter with reality, so we make adjustments and remain convicted to the goal, no matter the environment or the punches. At The Delta Companies, we persevere, achieving today’s goals today, in order to hit tomorrow’s goals tomorrow.

Achieving clarity is to identify and address the heart of a matter. Our candid questions expose and disinfect ambiguity like sunlight kills germs. We are relentless in our pursuit of the truth and never succumb to faux work. We approach wimp junction by confronting reality and developing a viable solution for all. At The Delta Companies, we demonstrate perspicacity.

Passion is cultivated, not taught, and makes risk-taking easier. We have burned our ships and are “all in,” virally influencing others. We direct this wild passion with respect, creating a uniquely positive experience for everyone. We are all freakishly different with our unique life experiences yielding us varying and genuine lenses. Even when we don’t approve, we do accept. Manners are the price of entry here. At The Delta Companies, we regard all people when we express our passions.

In life, there are no excuses, only outcomes. No try, we do. Even valid excuses lead to failure. Success requires initiative and purposeful steering (not drifting). Responsible people are rewarded in our meritocracy. Owning our current location allows for desired future positions. We complete lulu’s to improve, even after we succeed. At The Delta Companies, we hope for what we cannot control; we hunt for everything else.

We are hired to compress time. This means sprinting outside of our comfort zone and leading others outside of theirs. Creating a sense of urgency is simply a part of our role. Speed is a catalyst to focus. Speed requires the confidence to take action without all of the information. At The Delta Companies, we create intense forward movement, not just motion.

Expecting to win is an attitude. We have a desire to be the best. We demonstrate a spirit of excellence in all endeavors. We never put limitations on dreams, never fear the words “why not;” and always embrace the notion of “go big, don’t suck.” owning this attitude is a catalyst to successful behavior-- playing to win.

Playing to win is about action. We are competition junkies. We recognize our fears as reptilian anxiety, and never play scared. Most times, winning requires simply out-working the competition. Playing to win is also about being creative and innovative. And, we will never adopt the policy of winning at all costs. We are hump movers. At The Delta Companies, we step up, take action, and win frequently and honestly.

Focus is zoning in on HPA’s. We are neither distracted by the busyness and noise beside us, nor diverted by regrets in our rearview mirror. We are engrossed with virtual blinders towards the root issue, recognizing that anything less is a waste of energy. We believe in “single tasking.” We plan our day by objective, not time. Attention management ensures the outcomes we desire. Since engagement requires relaxation, we also embrace a home/ office balance. At The Delta Companies, we are effective.

Jeff Bowling

Founder

It started with a love for the game.

Jeff Bowling entered the world of healthcare staffing after spending 25 years exploring his love of baseball. Jeff’s highly competitive spirit enabled him to thrive in the playing and coaching environment. He discovered his drive and conviction were extreme advantages in the staffing industry, and his passion for winning drove him to early successes in his new career.

Jeff’s coaching talents were missed, however, and after only a year off of the field, Jeff received an intriguing proposition from the father of a former player: to fund Jeff in the startup of new staffing company, as long as he would come back and continue to coach his son’s select team. With this opportunity to support two of his passions, on Halloween of 1997 The Delta Companies was born.

The Delta Companies has continued to remain a unique entity in healthcare staffing. Jeff has led the company through record-breaking successes, and promoted an extraordinary culture that transcends each aspect of business.

Outside of The Delta Companies, Jeff’s passion extends to the love for his wife Daniella and their three children Reagan, Cash and Jett. He also enjoys saltwater fishing, traveling with his wife, and of course all things relating to baseball (mostly the winning part).

My greatest influence: Has been the Chattanooga State College baseball coach Greg Dennis.  I had the opportunity to coach next to him for three years and he  taught me how to compete with integrity, contribute to a cause, add value to collective goals and to be prepared. Greg taught me that it doesn’t matter how good or how bad you think you are, you are what your record says you are. He taught me all of these things without a lecture or sermon; only through his actions.

What makes me laugh: Rum drinks.

Paul Estrada

Executive Vice President, Delta Physician Placement

By 2007, he moved into sales and then into operations where he spent a decade launching new verticals and improving underperforming business units. During his tenure with DPP, he has held several leadership roles, including Director of Marketing, Vice President, and Senior Vice President.

Estrada’s experience in permanent physician placement, locum tenens placement, and with contract physician groups have given him a well-rounded view of the importance of good relationships between providers and healthcare facilities. Paul received a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas. He is married to Linda Estrada and shares their Dallas home with their German Shorthaired Pointer named Auggie.

By implementing the most innovative and effective strategies possible, our members provide successful fulfillment to clients and great fitting opportunities to candidates—in our business strategy, everyone wins.

CUSTOMER  EXPERIENCE

Customer Experience

Provider Experience

Client Experience

Experience Index

Game Ball

First, thank you to all the thousands of customers that provide business opportunity and partnership to The Delta Companies through Delta Healthcare Providers, Delta Physician Placement and Delta Locum Tenens.

The Customer Experience ensures accountability of our members and noteworthy service to customers through direct feedback and stories. These stories, as well as comments from customers, portray a picture of the daily impact we play in people’s lives. Members at The Delta Companies understand that it is their responsibility to create a one-of-a-kind experience that exceeds expectations. It is only through creating such experiences that we able to a difference in the industry.

Beliefs

The purpose of The Delta Customer Experience is to understand the impact each member has on a customer’s life. Only through this understanding and accepting of responsibility do we go beyond customer satisfaction to earn customer loyalty. The Delta Companies understands that customer service in recruiting or staffing is about “what we do;” “how it is done” is the customer experience. Having satisfactory customer service requires meeting client requirements or helping a provider identify an opportunity. Providing an experience that goes above expectation with the service is what compels customers to share their interaction with colleagues. It is only through this commitment to providing excellent services that The Delta Companies can fulfill its purpose.

Systems

  • Customer feedback is shared and acted upon through the Experience Index.

  • Real and impactful stories regarding our providers in the communities we service are relied in Reel Experiences.

  • Stories about providing an experience above expectation are spotlighted with the Game Ball.

  • Continual improvement with customer experience is integrated into learning via our Infusion Institute.

Organizational Accountability

How might an organization operate if its CEO could see all unfiltered customer comments about its services? This question was answered at The Delta Companies with the introduction of the Customer Experience Index. Through this level of accountability toward the customer experience, we continue grow and improve upon our services. All levels, all service lines, and all departments review customer feedback and comments gleamed from the Customer Experience Index survey.

The survey is conducted four times per year with each provider and facility contact that has had a transaction with any of the company's service lines. Once collected, valuable information is analyzed to best determine the ‘root cause’ of each experience. Whether it’s an exceptional experience we want replicated or an area that provides opportunity to improve—we want your feedback.

Survey results and feedback are shared with the primary member for each represented customer, and the member’s director or manager. In some cases, a team works with the customer to understand how to use the feedback as caching tool to enhance the customer experience. At the director level, all the surveys are analyzed and action plans are built to make operational adjustment for the service line or business unit. The plans are crafted twice a year, presented at companywide quarterly meetings, and are overseen from the entire executive team to ensure that the experience is beyond industry leading.

Our providers deserve to have a great experience when partnering with The Delta Companies, and looking at new opportunities or accepting a new assignment is exciting for each of our members. In order to ensure the best outcome for each of our providers, we measure experiences within the Experience Index.

Historically, providers have expressed positive feedback in our members’ ability to understand the importance of each provider’s specific situation and to learn how to navigate multiple scenarios that might appear while searching for new opportunities. When working with The Delta Companies, our members create value for providers by acting as guides through the recruiting process and resources to help make informed decisions. Through open channels of knowledge sharing, each of our members learns from the collective provider experiences and applies this knowledge to increasing value for all providers. Comments from the Experience Index are used as daily coaching points and success stories from the survey are recognized with the Game Ball.

Unlike many complicated service satisfaction surveys, the Customer Experience Index asks only three simple questions and takes just minutes to complete. All comments are used to construct measurable action plans which are shared with the entire organization at quarterly meetings. Surveys are sent to each provider that has either been placed, gone on an interview, or worked an assignment with The Delta Companies. The surveys are conducted four times per year by Inavero.

It is a tremendous responsibility to bring quality providers to our clients’ communities. This is why The Delta Companies work to continuously improve upon their services in order to ensure the best fitting candidate placements in each of the areas we serve. We measure this process through the Experience Index survey.

Learning how to communicate and having a sincere interest in the facilities we work with are critical components to developing relationships for our members. These two components are evaluated through customer feedback, and our members work to build these relationships with each of our clients. We use feedback generated from clients to continue to grow and help more communities. Comments from the Experience Index are used as daily coaching points and stories outside the survey are portrayed in the Game Ball.

Unlike many complicated service satisfaction surveys, the Customer Experience Index asks only three simple questions and takes just minutes to complete. All comments are used to construct measurable action plans which are shared with the entire organization at quarterly meetings. Surveys are sent to each customer that has started a search, conducted an onsite interview, or had an assignment worked through The Delta Companies. The surveys are conducted four times per year by Inavero.

The Customer Experience Index is a single metric used to measure the experience customers are having with our services. The metric is the Net Promoter Score® that was developed by Satmetrix, Bain & Company, and Fred Reichheld. It establishes a simple actionable feedback and measurement system so that our organization will continually improve the customer experience while earning loyalty with our services.

The Customer Experience Index, asks three questions to both providers and facility contacts with whom we work:

  • Based on your most recent experience, how likely is it that you would recommend The Delta Companies to a friend or colleague? (Ratings indicated on an 11-point scale from “0-Not at all likely” to “10-Extremely likely.”)
  • What is the primary reason behind the rating you provided?
  • What is one thing we could be doing differently to increase the value of our services to you?

Based on the rating, a metric is established for the customer’s experience with both the candidate and the facility contact. In addition to the metric, the comments provided from the survey are also utilized to better understand where operational adjustments can be made to enhance the customer experience across all service lines. The Customer Experience Index surveys are conducted four times per year and are performed by a third party, Inavero. From the information collected, analysis is completed, action plans are built, and the entire organization is accountable to the execution of the plans.

As a reflection of the execution of plans and the experience we provide, The Delta Companies has services ranked on Inavero’s Best of Staffing List™ for both client and talent categories.

What does it take to be exceptional? Members at The Delta Companies challenge this question daily with their efforts to provide the best service available to customers. As a whole, our team is so dedicated to providing exceptional customer service to candidates and clients that we have turned the process into a reward-based contest—not that this has anything to do with the team's crave for competition!

Every month, each service line submits stories to the Delta Executive Team that highlight impactful experiences shared by customers.  The Executive Team chooses a story that most embodies the experience we look to achieve as an organization, and then awards the Game Ball to the member associated with that story.  Each member to receive the Game Ball signs their name to the trophy, and at the end of each year, the Game Ball is moved to a trophy case for all to see.

REWARDS  &  CELEBRATION

People tend to do their best work when they enjoy what they are doing. The Delta Companies members work hard and play hard—when our customers succeed, so do we. This is always cause for celebration!

  • Platinum Club
  • Race for the Rolex
  • Both
  • Quarterly Meetings
  • Team Celebrations

Platinum Club

As one of the company's most coveted reward programs, the Platinum Club treats top performing members and their guest to an annual dream vacation at the close of the year. Members become eligible to join the Platinum Club after they have reached the target gross margin goal for their business, and vacation destinations have included a resort on the beaches of Punta Cana and a golf retreat to Grande Rivera. Each trip allows The Delta Companies members to recharge and celebrate a successful year, while creating extraordinary experiences shared by the team.

Race for the Rolex

Throughout the year, gross margin rates and placement information are monitored and reported at Quarterly meetings, as members compete to be the top producers in the Race for the Rolex competition. The top performing marketer and recruiter from each business line are each announced at the final Quarterly meeting, and awarded a customized Rolex for their contribution and success.

Both

“It takes both.” This phrase hangs proudly over the desks of top performing members in the office. While not always the easiest task, The Delta Companies members work tirelessly to secure the best placements for customers, and these efforts are awarded with “on-both” recognition. Being on-both requires members to meet both their gross margin requirement and KPI requirement for the week.

Quarterly

Your adrenaline is pumping, the music is deafening, lights are flashing, the audience cheers and applauds— wait, where is Justin Beiber? Simply put, our quarterly meetings rock. In addition to keeping members up to date about the ongoing in each business line, we take the time to celebrate each other and our personal and professional accomplishments. From purchasing a first home to receiving the “rockstar of the quarter” award, this day-long celebration is less of a “meeting” and more a time for The Delta Companies to come together in camaraderie and excitement as a whole.

Team Celebrations

Teamwork and fellowship are important aspects to The Delta Companies culture, and having pride in fellow members rarely goes uncelebrated. Happy hours, team bowling nights, whirly ball tournaments—all are common occurrences for members wanting to support an environment of joy and friendship.

HUMANITY

hu•man•i•ty: (noun) goodwill, fellowship, and kindness

At The Delta Companies, our culture thrives on support and acceptance. By creating an environment of fellowship, camaraderie, and respect, our team can truly make a difference to society. Philanthropy at The Delta Companies does not stop at the notion of simply “giving back” to the community; it is about the love for mankind, putting people first in all considerations, and showing kindness even when no one is around to see.

Engagement

Members at The Delta Companies redefine what it takes to be involved. Their commitment to the team and to a supportive company culture does not stop when it is time to punch out for the day. Members band together in local communities, planning social events, participating in Days of Caring, and going above and beyond the norm to make everyone feel welcomed and included. The company's core behaviors are carried into everything members do, both on and off of the clock.

PHILANTHROPY

Giving back

Humility as a trait people are not often born with; it is something that has to be developed. The Delta Companies team works daily to strengthen our reach within the community through humanity and philanthropy. Through both organized efforts, and individual contributions, we work to raise support and awareness for local organizations.

From the enterprise

Currently, The Delta Companies focuses philanthropy efforts toward Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC). Through a collaborative contribution to the organization, we have been able to help relieve expenses for children in need of orthopedic care, help finance medical equipment and building renovations used during treatment, support research, supportive services for families, and recreational activities for patients.

From the members

Through one of the company's most popular fundraisers, each of our members has the option to participate in the “casual wear” program, which allows participating members to donate a percentage of each paycheck toward TSRHC in exchange for wearing jeans and comfy clothes to the office each day.  Through this effort alone, members have contributed thousands of dollars toward TSRHC.

Many members are also dedicated to organizations outside of The Delta Companies umbrella. In an effort to help support individual efforts and the organizations that our members hold close to their hearts, The Delta Companies grants tenured members Days of Caring—days of paid time off to spend volunteering for an organization of the member’s choosing.

FUN

FIRST   QUARTER

What would work be without a little fun—for us, pretty improbable! During our first quarter, our members participate in an internally judged Super Bowl Dip-off, celebrate Opening Day in our favorite sport teams’ apparel, and play the odds in the March Madness Bracket Showdown.

SECOND   QUARTER

Second quarter is a time to buckle down and drive performance, lend a few Days of Caring to organizations within our community, and then head to happy hour to celebrate our success! In this quarter, we smack a piñata in honor of Cinco de Mayo, bring in the summer at our annual decoration contest, and host our largest philanthropy event, the Disco Cup Golf Tournament.

THIRD   QUARTER

Fall festivities do not go unnoticed at The Delta Companies. We use the quarter to partake in enterprise-wide dessert contests, rock training and salesmanship games sponsored by the Infusion Institute, and complete group Days of Caring at organizations in need of volunteers. Then, we break out the icepacks in preparation for the Delta Olympics—a day full of jumping, weaving, outrunning, pushing, tripping, bobbing, and diving for the honor and bragging rights to receiving the Olympic Cup.

FOURTH   QUARTER

We close out the year with a bang. Doubling as our company anniversary, Halloween is a major celebration at the office. We also look forward to our silent auction fundraiser for philanthropy, and individual team holiday celebrations. Before the holidays wrap up, we proudly present our philanthropy earnings to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children during the annual toy drop, and then close the year in style at our epically renowned Christmas party.

It’s here: Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released its new proposed rules for the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act, known simply as MACRA. The changes by CMS are intended to leverage the performance-based payment system (also known as value-based, results-based, outcomes-based, or merit-based), and will impact physicians and providers who participate in Medicare. What do you need to know to streamline the changes for your facility? While there is a wide variety of information available—and we’ve provided several helpful links below—every transformation begins with the basics. As such, here are five overarching things you need to know about MACRA.

Under the new rule, how will physicians and providers receive Medicare reimbursement?
There will be a two-track system: one track is for merit based incentive programs (MIPS) that participate in fee-for service, and the second track is for providers who are reimbursed through alternative payment models (APM).

How can providers participate in the APM option?
CMS outlines the payment models that would qualify under the APM option as the Medicare Share Savings Program (MSSP) Tracks 2 and 3 (note: Track 1 does not qualify), Next Generation ACO Model, and Pioneer ACO programs.

When will payment changes and adjustments take place?
The new rule is slated to take affect January 2017. As such, performance in 2016 will not be impacted. The activity in 2017 will impact payments in 2019.

How will Meaningful Use (MU) initiative be impacted?
MU is an incentive-based program for using electronic health records (EHR). One of the biggest changes is that MU would no longer be its own independent program. Under MARCA, EHR would account for 25 percent of the performance composite score, which is used to determine Medicare payment.

Will MACRA impact reporting?
Yes. Providers will be forced to report the quality of care via the physician quality report system (PQRS), and the results will impact reimbursement. (More here.) The American Medical Association (AMA) offers valuable downloadable information on PQRS reporting under both MIPS and AMS.

The Best Advice: Be Prepared
While the proposed MARCA changes are detailed and robust, being prepared is key to success. The professionals at The Delta Companies are here to help with insight and information. In addition, there is a wealth of information on the AMA site, including a checklist to prepare for the upcoming changes.

5 Reasons to Recruit Right Now

There’s a season for everything in business, and when it comes to recruiting physicians, that season is now.

Because it takes an average of four months from onsite profile to signed candidate, it’s time to get the ball rolling if you want to take advantage of several variables working in your favor. Here are five reasons why your recruiting efforts should start today.

1. The Window Is Open
Now is the peak season for candidate relocation.
The summer months are an ideal time for candidates to move because children are out of school, the weather is agreeable, and many professional services companies have shorter workweeks. Candidates who are looking to change practice opportunities tell us they are interested in
making commitments now.

2. Eliminate Stress for the Family
Any career change takes time to plan, and when a household move is involved, the stakes are even higher. From selling an existing home to finding a new one, there are many moving parts that take time and energy. Recruiting now gives busy families time to plan.

3. Physicians Have Time to Give Notice and Apply for Licensure
Physicians typically give 30 to 60 days of notice, so recruiting now will give their current employer time to prepare. Physicians also have time to inform their patients and tie up loose ends. And, if the physician is moving to another state, he or she will need time to go through the required credentialing and licensure process.

4. The Devil Is in the Details
Selling a home, changing schools, and finding new service providers takes time. And, don’t forget that lending laws have changed, often lengthening the time necessary for the home selling and closing process. Recruiting now gives candidates time to get all of their personal affairs in order.

5. You Have Time to Shape the Future
When you’re recruiting for planned attrition, retirement, and growth, start as early as possible. If peak season recruiting isn’t possible, there’s a secondary window from mid-December through mid-January. This is another time of year when children are out of school (winter break), although it’s typically only for two to three weeks. Begin your recruiting efforts for a year-end placement within the next couple of months.

Working with the right recruiting and staffing partner to identify, interview, and negotiate with candidates is critical to your healthcare staffing success. The right partner will have the expertise necessary to make any candidate relocation happen as smoothly as possible.

What Makes Travel Therapists Travel? How Does This Impact Patient Care?

A new year brings new opportunities, and travel therapy is no exception to the rule.

What Makes Travel Therapists Travel? How Does This Impact Patient Care?

As talented therapists begin to plan their goals for 2016, tried and true resolutions come to mind like “spend more time with family” or “travel more often.” Sure, most people resolve to do these things during the start of every year. The difference with these therapists; however, is that their career path sets them on a strong course of actually meeting these goals.

From a recruitment standpoint, new resolutions are a positive. Hiring facilities are faced with new opportunities to attract top talent as more and more therapists opt for travel assignments. With this in mind, Delta Healthcare Providers raised the question of what makes travel therapists choose a travel lifestyle, and how might this reasoning impact patient care.

Given the choice between a happy healthcare provider or one of indifference, most would take the obvious choice. Research has shown that the mindset of a provider can have great impact on patient care. Avoiding burnout and encouraging mindful, holistic patient interactions can have great benefits for all parties involved—happy therapists that enjoy their working conditions are more likely to encourage their patients and provide humanistic care; patients are more likely to listen and adhere to treatments and advise; facilities can see greater patient retention and referrals.

So, what is it that makes a travel therapist happy?

The Family
More often times than not, a travel therapist’s ideal location lands them near a close friend or relative. When you get to pick the city in which to perform your work, why not aim to be closer to your loved ones? In fact, one provider we interviewed utilizes the flexibility of travel assignments in order to spend more time with his grandson, instead of full retirement.

Incorporating a travel therapist to your staff that who an assignment near their family might mean adding a happy new face to your facility. Often, our travelers request opportunities in a drivable radius of their loved ones, which means facilities have the chance to capitalize on quality, tenured healthcare providers (or those eager to learn) through travel therapists happy to be near family and friends.

The Flexibility
It is no surprise that within a large majority of travel therapists lives a certain degree of wanderlust. Many of our travelers send photos from their downtime during active assignments. In fact, a current traveler in Texas gave a detailed account of his off-duty pass times to his recruiter when he visited a college football game, world-renowned music festival, local landmarks, and beautiful hiking trails—all within a 13-week assignment.

Again, this scenario of allowing a explorative traveler to satisfy his travel bug leads to happy healthcare. When a provider feels they have the freedom to devote their spare time to exploring their passions, it would stand to reason that their positive attitude would carry over into their work.

The Facility Itself
Another common reason therapists turn to travel is for the broad spectrum of experience they can gather in their careers. In a recent blog post, Delta Healthcare Providers interviewed one traveler who opted to leave the warm southern climate she knew to take a home health position in Michigan. In December. When asked why, this was her response:

“Initially, I was apprehensive about what providing therapy in the rural upper peninsula would mean. What I learned was it meant the freedom and time to provide one-on-one attention to my patients without being pressured with productivity quotas and an environment that fostered continuing education to be a better therapist. The staff is incredibly helpful and cooperative and the company has committed to building new state of the art facilities that will be available in the next year. Not only has the job been great but the area has allowed me to enjoy the outdoors and learn to ski, snow shoe, snow mobile, hike, paddleboard, boat, kayak, and enjoy the sun on the beaches of Lake Superior. I have loved my experience as a Yooper.”

In this case, the culture at the facility she served played a large factor in her happiness with her assignment. This goes to show that even a facility in a less-than-desirable location can still be a major player in attracting top talent by simply marketing the culture or technology that they can provide. Great staff, new technology, access to pass times they love—whatever makes you stand out could be the key to recruiting your next travel rockstar.

The honorees are nominated by peers, SIA advisors, and the SIA team.

TDC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japan-based Mitsui & Co., Ltd., which acquired the firm in 2014. The Delta Companies Recognized with Best of Staffing® Awards 2018

Inavero's signature awards recognize excellence in service quality.

DALLAS, TEXAS (February, 16, 2018)—The Delta Companies (TDC), a leading staffing firm for healthcare professionals nationwide, has announced it has been recognized with several Inavero Best of Staffing® Awards 2018. The awards, which are presented in association with CareerBuilder, are based on feedback from hiring professionals and job candidates that rate U.S. and Canadian staffing firms for superior service quality.

There are three categories of Best of Staffing® awards: Best of Staffing® Client Satisfaction, based on receiving high ratings from clients; Best of Staffing® Talent Satisfaction, for high marks from placed talent; and the Diamond Award, which recognizes companies that have won a Best of Staffing® Award for five consecutive years.

Each of TDC’s business units won awards this year.
• Delta Physician Placement: Best of Staffing® Talent Satisfaction (fourth year to win)
• Delta Healthcare Providers, Temporary: Best of Staffing® Client Satisfaction, Best of Staffing® Talent Satisfaction, and the Diamond Award (third year to win)
• Delta Healthcare Providers, Permanent: Best of Staffing® Talent Satisfaction (fourth year to win)
• Delta Locum Tenens: Best of Staffing Talent® Satisfaction and Diamond Award (fifth year to win)

To qualify for an award, a firm must have a 20 percent audience response rate plus 15 responses, or 250 total responses. The firm must also rank in the top 50 percent in Net Promoter® Score (NPS), which measures the likelihood a person will recommend the company, for both the client and talent categories.

There is a quantifiable difference in satisfaction rates between firms that win Best of Staffing® Awards and firms that do not. For Best of Staffing® winners, the average NPS is 67 percent for placed talent satisfaction, as compared to the overall staffing industry average of 21 percent. In the client satisfaction category, Best of Staffing® award winners received a NPS of 68 percent, compared to the staffing industry average of just 4 percent.

“We recognize that our clients and candidates have many choices when it comes to who they partner with for their staffing and recruitment needs. We are honored and humbled that their feedback places us as one of the top firms to work with in the nation,” said Ryan Tipton, Vice President of Customer Experience for TDC. “We will continue to refine our processes with the help of their feedback to ensure we exceed their expectations at every interaction.”

The successful additions come after DLT recruiters attended Hospital Medicine 2017, the annual conference held by the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM). The event, which took place May 1-4, is widely known to be the largest gathering of hospital medicine professionals in the United States.

Today, there are more than 52,000 practicing hospitalists, and the demand continues to grow. Hospitalist medicine has been the no. 1 specialty placed by DLT for eight consecutive years including a staggering 68 percent year-over-year growth in pediatric hospitalist placements. These figures support and reinforce the growing need for locum tenens professionals and have been a key driver for DLT to proactively attend events like SHM to recruit these valued healthcare providers.

“I have worked with Delta Locum Tenens for over 5 years and also have worked with other locum companies,” said Edward R., a current DLT Internal Medicine/Hospitalist provider. “I have found that Delta (Locum Tenens) is easy to talk to, returns calls quickly and resolve any issues quickly and appropriately and the best part is that they pay you quickly.”

DLT, is recognized as the eighth largest staffing firm nationwide by Staffing Industry Analysts and has been honored with the Best of Staffing® Award for seven consecutive years. DLT places locum physicians and advanced practitioners with A++ malpractice coverage for all providers. With over 30% of DLT’s business derived from hospitalists, participation in industry conferences like SHM is imperative.

Delta Locum Tenens Supports the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact

Progressive licensure process gives healthcare providers greater job opportunities, flexible scheduling

DALLAS, TEXAS (May, 19, 2017)—Delta Locum Tenens (DLT), a leading staffing firm for healthcare professionals nationwide, has announced its advocacy and support for the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC). The Federation of State Medical Boards created the IMLC to provide a direct way for qualifying physicians to practice in multiple states, thereby expediting the existing process for obtaining licensure outside of their state of principal licensure. Healthcare facilities, patients, and entire communities will also benefit from the increased access to more providers and medical specialties.

Many of the providers working with DLT qualify for IMLC’s streamlined multistate medical license process. In most cases, this will provide DLT the ability to activate a license as quick as two weeks with a single application. Under the IMLC, DLT can connect providers with more opportunities, and offer more scheduling flexibility and greater travel selection. For more information on these changes or to determine if you qualify click here

“A lot of the providers who work with DLT will benefit from the progressive stance the IMLC offers,” said Anne Schilling, a Principal Recruiter for Delta Locum Tenens. “With the rise of telemedicine, and the growing demand for locum tenens providers and advanced practitioner healthcare professionals, IMLC is a reflection of the times. DLT is excited about the opportunities this compact offers to our healthcare professionals and clients.”

The IMLC is an agreement between 19 states, and to date, the states accepting lMLC licensure are Alabama, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Mississippi, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

Those states with membership in progress are Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, and Utah. In addition, legislation has been introduced for the following states as well, Georgia, Michigan, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Washington State, and Washington, D.C.

The Delta Companies Recognized with Best of Staffing® Awards

Inavero’s signature awards recognize excellence in service quality.

DALLAS, TEXAS (February, 14, 2017)—The Delta Companies (TDC), a leading staffing firm for healthcare professionals nationwide, has announced it has been recognized with several Inavero Best of Staffing® Awards 2017.

• Delta Physician Placement: Best of Staffing® Client Satisfaction and Best of Staffing® Talent Satisfaction (third year to win)
• Delta Healthcare Providers, Temporary: Best of Staffing® Client Satisfaction, Best of Staffing® Talent Satisfaction, and the Diamond Award (for the second time)
• Delta Healthcare Providers, Permanent: Best of Staffing® Talent Satisfaction (third year to win)
• Delta Locum Tenens: Best of Staffing Talent® Satisfaction and Diamond Award (for the fourth time)

“With thousands of options available to our clients and candidates, we are honored they continue to choose The Delta Companies as their healthcare staffing partner, and once again they have recognized us for what makes Delta special, our incomparable focus on the ‘staffing experience.’ It is easy to celebrate our wins, AND WE WILL, but we know there is more work to be done to ensure ‘what we do’ and ‘how we do it’ touches each and every customer we serve,” said Ryan Tipton, Vice President of Customer Experience for TDC.

The Delta Companies Announces New CEO, Bill Tracewell

Current CEO Jeff Bowling Will Step Down at the End of 2016

DALLAS, TEXAS (October, 6, 2016)—The Delta Companies (TDC)’s Board of Directors  announced that effective January 1, 2017, Bill Tracewell will lead the company as Chief Executive Officer. Tracewell will succeed Jeff Bowling, who has led the organization for 20 years and created a leading staffing firm for healthcare professionals nationwide.

As the new CEO, Tracewell will continue TDC’s momentum and growth, leveraging his 15 years of healthcare staffing expertise and leadership working with Bowling. During his tenure at TDC, Tracewell has fulfilled several roles, including physician recruiter, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

“Bill is a quiet but determined proven leader in healthcare staffing, who we have worked with for the past 2 years since Mitsui’s investment in TDC in 2014. Bill has a wealth of knowledge of TDC, and is a person of integrity”, commented Seiki (Stan) Hirota, Chairman of the Board, The Delta Companies. “Bill has demonstrated character and competence and will be an excellent leader for the company going forward as we continue to strengthen the culture, business model and legacy, which Jeff built since the inception of TDC.”

“I am excited and honored to be given this opportunity,” Tracewell said. “Under Jeff’s leadership, The Delta Companies has seen amazing success through the years and we look to continue that success as we enter the next chapter in the evolution of our company.”

Bowling will continue to maintain an active role within the organization, and will hold a position on the Board of Directors. He started TDC in 1997 and grew the company from a three-person operation specializing in physician retained search, to an award-winning locum tenens, allied travel, and retained healthcare search company with 255 internal employees and revenues in excess of $100 million in 2016.

Today, TDC is recognized as one of the largest staffing firms in the U.S., and over the years has earned awards for performance, growth, and customer service, as well as multiple “Best Places to Work” awards, numerous advertising awards, the ASA Care Award, and has helped company members raise almost $730K the past nine years for Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.  Bowling has been instrumental in the company’s continued success since it was acquired in 2014 by Mitsui & Co., Ltd.

“Bill has the skill and drive necessary to compete in this space,” Bowling said. “Our customers and the great people of TDC are going to have an unparalleled advantage with Bill and Mitsui driving future success.”

The Delta Companies Named One of the Largest Staffing Firms in the U.S.

Firms ranked by revenue can be an indicator of customer satisfaction

DALLAS, TEXAS (September, 12, 2016)—The Delta Companies (TDC), a leading staffing firm for healthcare professionals nationwide, announced that it has been named among the Largest Staffing Firms in the U.S. by Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA). The designation is given to firms that generated at least $100 million in staffing revenue in 2015.

TDC, which is comprised of locum tenens, nursing, physician and allied healthcare placements, was ranked no. 24 on the list.

“Recognition by SIA is more than just an accolade—it’s a testament to the trust our clients have in the members of TDC to find and place the most talented healthcare professionals available,” said Ty Chambers, Executive Vice President, DLT. “Making the right match is fulfilling; however, it is the additional access that is created for our clients, providers, and the communities that they serve that is most rewarding. Providing the best possible experience for everyone involved continues to be TDC’s priority.”

In addition to TDC’s ranking, two of its divisions, Delta Healthcare Providers (DHPT) and Delta Locum Tenens (DLT), made the list for their respective categories.

DHPT, which places temporary and permanent allied professionals, debuted this year at no.18 in the Allied Healthcare Section. DLT, which has made the list in the past, was ranked no. 8 in the Locum Tenens section.

This is the 21st year SIA has published its rankings.

The Delta Companies Earns Certification from the Joint Commission for the Fifth Consecutive Time

DALLAS, TEXAS (August, 30, 2016)— The Delta Companies (TDC), a leading staffing firm for healthcare professionals nationwide, announced it has been certified by The Joint Commission’s Health Care Staffing Services Certification program for the fifth time. According to The Joint Commission, this certification demonstrates a higher standard of service and provides a framework for structure and management within the organization.

TDC’s certification benefits healthcare facilities by ensuring business continuity and streamlined onboarding. In addition, this certification confirms for clients that TDC follows industry best practices, such as conducting quality assurance checks on all provider candidates, keeping accurate medical and drug screenings on file, and ensuring that performance reviews take place during an assignment or placement.

“Holding the certification for healthcare staffing from The Joint Commission has allowed us to streamline our process and develop checks and balances that ensure we are providing quality healthcare professionals to the facilities we staff," said DeLibra Wesley, Vice President of Risk Management, Delta Healthcare Providers (DHP). DHP is the division of TDC that provides allied healthcare staffing services.

TDC’s certification also enables hospital associations, which are required to be Joint Commissioned certified, to maintain industry consistency by working with a partner that has been recognized for operating at the same high standards.

In 2008, TDC was one of the first healthcare staffing firms to be recognized by The Joint Commission’s certification. Re-certifications are conducted every two years.

Meeting the Demand for Critical Care Physicians

Industry perspective on how hospitals are handling the increased demand for critical care medicine

Advances in medicine and a nationwide focus on health and wellness are factors contributing to our longevity. As our population lives longer, there is an increased demand for critical care medicine—and the specialized physicians who treat these patients.

From Hospitalist to Specialist
Just five years ago, it was the hospitalist or internist who was expected to perform procedures required in the critical care unit. However, changes to our healthcare system structure, including coverage and reimbursement to hospitals, have had a dramatic impact on critical care.

For example, under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), more people are insured today than ever before, which means there are more patients. Further, ACA has evolved the hospital business model: physician and hospital reimbursements have moved from a services-based system to a results-based system, requiring hospitals to reevaluate who treats patients in order to effect the best possible outcome.

In the wake of these changes, the hospital’s foundational and physical structure has also evolved. Today, hospitalists have greater autonomy to assign patients to the specialist who is most qualified to achieve positive results. In addition, hospitals are reducing the number of inpatient beds in favor of sending any patient who might require specialty support to the critical care unit or the intensive care unit, resulting in a steady increase in the number of critical care beds. In fact, from 2000 to 2010, the number of critical care beds increased by 17.8 percent, according the Society of Critical Care Medicine.

In addition, acute care hospitals and rehabilitation hospitals have become more prevalent—a clear demonstration of the increase in the number of specialized hospitals and units that treat the chronically ill who rely on critical care.

Filling the Critical Care Gap
These facts all point the reality that there will continue to be unprecedented demand for critical care physicians, and you can expect this need to continue on a strong and steady trajectory. Why? Because advances in medicine will continue to advance lifespans, and hospitals will continue to look for ways to improve outcomes. Their point of differentiation and competitive edge will be influenced by critical care medicine.

Delta Locum Tenens offers award-winning staffing solutions for critical care medicine, and has been recognized as a top agency in the physician staffing industry for the past seven years. Visit Delta Locum Tenens for more about locum tenens staffing services.

The Delta Companies (TDC), a leading staffing firm for healthcare professionals nationwide, announced it has surpassed all of its core goals in 2015, exceeding industry and internal benchmarks for growth, financial performance, and customer and member engagement. These variables are referred to as the three E’s:  expansion, effectiveness, and experience, and all stretch goals were measured by a company-wide initiative dubbed EPIC.

“Our target was to outpace the industry in growth, financial performance, and the experience for our customers and members—and we did each by a significant margin,” said Jeff Bowling, CEO of TDC. “Through EPIC, we created belief in a path to reaching our goals that was fun, transparent, and consistently in front of everyone. EPIC ignited our employees’ sense of teamwork and ownership. They made 2015 an EPIC year.”

In measuring expansion, TDC realized 24 percent growth for the year. For effectiveness the company reached all-time highs in financial performance that surpassed its goals in 2015.

For experience, TDC uses the Net Promotor® Score (NPS) to measure customer satisfaction and internal member engagement. Based on the NPS, all three staffing brands, Delta Healthcare Providers (DHP), Delta Locum Tenens (DLT) and Delta Physician Placement (DPP) earned Best of Staffing accolades by Inavero.

“The members of our team are committed to delivering a unique and fulfilling experience to our customers,” said Ty Chambers, Executive Vice President, DLT. “To be recognized as Best of Staffing® for seven consecutive years, three years Double Diamond, is rewarding recognition that highlights the caring nature of the DLT team.”

The Member Engagement Survey (MES), which is a measurement of staff engagement, also reached a record high at (69 NPS), distinguishing TDC as an elite company in the U.S. The company’s record high retention rate also supports a high level of engagement.

“Our culture is world class and this is reflected in the score where we beat our industry competition, as well as great cultural brands like Southwest Airlines (62 NPS) and Apple iPhone (63 NPS),” Bowling said.

The Delta Companies Significantly Expands Locum Tenens Provider Network

Hundreds of Hospitalists Join Delta Locum Tenens for Future Assignments

DALLAS, TEXAS (May 30, 2017)—The Delta Companies (TDC), a leading staffing firm for healthcare professionals nationwide, announced that Delta Locum Tenens (DLT) has significantly expanded the number of screened providers available for locum’s placement by adding 579 new hospitalists to its network. As of today, DLT has a robust database of 12,154 screened hospitalist providers.
