Wataru “Wat” Tanaka is the Vice President of United Healthcare and The Delta Companies. Wat brings 20 years of expertise to the role from his tenure with Mitsui & Company, TDC’s parent company. His experience includes accounting; product, project, and department management; marketing; customer service and acquisition; and business development.

As Vice President of United Healthcare, Wat oversees internal controls and compliance by seeking ways to achieve business growth through improvement strategies and ensuring the business standardization of procedures and policies. He also acts as the liaison between TDC and Mitsui & Co.

Prior to this role, Wat held various positions within Mitsui, including Manager of Outsourcing, Manager of the Corporate Planning Division, and Manager of the Human Capital Business Department where he managed the staffing companies in the U.S. that are owned by Mitsui.

Wat earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural chemistry from Kyoto University.
